Meet Beetle. He’s that little voice inside of me that tells me I’m not good enough. Dalia tries to keep him in line, but he’s a crafty little devil and loves to get out and harass me. I know he just needs some love. Sometimes when he’s been really bad Dalia will just pick him up and cuddle him. He resists at first, but we both know it’s what he really wants. He always gives in. When he’s calm and not trying to stir doubt up inside me, he can actually be quite adorable. Don’t tell him I said that though.
Next time you’re around me and I’m being cranky or irritable, you’ll know it’s Beetle who’s on the loose. I’ll be ok as soon as we get him rounded up again.

Hi Despair, I check for a new comic almost everyday. Sometimes, I go back a few and read forward to pick up the arc. I read the Scotts’ (Johnson and Kurtz) work on their multiple platforms, as well as about a dozen of the pros (in print Marvel, DC, etc.). I enjoy your work, your development of your characters, your stories, your perspective. I think you have a lot of talent and should keep going – do not stop!

I dunno what that beetle is thinking – You’ve got a pretty loyal fan base going here and everyone starts somewhere.
Don’t get an office job either… the artist in you will regret it forever! I still really like the outlet that this comic is providing you. Hopefully it really is making other things a little easier to get through.
Just how did he get out of his box? I wouldn’t be able to sleep at night with a little bug critter running loose all night. O.O
