The First Comic

Yay!!!  Here it is, my first web comic!  I was originally uploaded on Friday, August 7, 2009, but since I can break anything, I had to redo the whole site today and repost the comic. :)

Thank you so much to Philip M. Hofer over at Comicpress.org for helping me figure out the tangled mess of folders I created when I tried to upload Wordpress on my own!  I now have my comic where my comic is supposed to be and I think it looks awesome if I do say so myself. :)

Thanks also go out to Obsidian of CommissionedComic.com!  When a scary little Columbian man who knows Kung Fu says, “You will have your first comic posted by Friday night,” you do it!  Thanks for the kick in the pants O! I needed it!

I hope you all enjoy it and come back Friday morning for comic #2!

I like your art style! I must admit – I do the same thing when drawing expressions. It DOES tend to confuse people. :-) Good luck with your webcomic!

Het, first, congrats on your comic! It’s funny, and it reminds me of what a friend if mine said about me looking like I’m out for blood when I’m playing guitar. :)

  3. angelina says:

Funny, isn’t it? I do the same thing!

Looking good so far. Have fun!

  4. Tara says:

Nice :) I make pretty weird faces when I draw so I usually don’t draw in public haha. I like to say I’m concentrating? haha, anyway, nice start, I look forward to this, looks good :]

  5. Prestwick says:

I imagine thats what my face would look like if I were ever forced to draw at a convention..

  6. Juan Navarro says:

HA! Awesome first comic. I do the same when drawing or when writing, even talking to myself to see if dialogue if right and such. Now i have to wonder if anybody’s seen me do that…..hmmm

  7. Lord Ebo says:

    Off to a great start!

  8. Kirby says:

Looks like you updated the look since we last talked. This looked great! Looking forward to seeing more from you.

Heard about your webcomic from O on Extralife Radio and commissioned and i’ve got this to say:
Nice start for a webcomic! will be checking back for more updates!

Just saw you webcomic. I wish you luck on being able to keep this up.

  11. I definitely make those faces when I draw too. Sometimes I’m imitating the character I’m drawing to get a better feel for how it should look, sometimes it’s concentration.
Good subject for a first comic, because I’ve never seen any other comic bring up this artist phenomenon. Unique and interesting right from the start.
Came here from your FA journal post.

  12. Calbeck says:

Heh, I do that too…for some reason, it seems to work…

  13. Bluephoenix says:

HEE!! I do that all the time! And yeah, my friends/parents become very confused…
